EWSolutions Honored With DM Review WCSA Award For Department of Defense Efforts

Chicago, IL(09/30/2005) – DM Review Magazine announced its “World Class Solution Award” winners, and EWSolutions once again came out on top. This marks the second industry award win for EWSolutions in less than a year’s time for their work at the Department of Defense (DoD). EWSolutions won the award for their submission in the category of “Data Management”, EWSolutions won the award for “Best Information Integration” which is given to the solution which best demonstrate value through meta data, design and modeling of a decision support database. This category includes the following technologies: meta data management, data modeling and databases.
EWSolutions was tasked to create a new central database designed to tie together the DoD’s $80 billion supply chain, which includes over 8 million parts, operated by over 3 million people. This system depends on over 3,000 different computer systems to provide data critical for making decisions such as whether a piece of tracking equipment is combat ready or if U.S. troops need to be re-supplied with items including ammunition, food, or water.
Established in 1996, DM Review's World Class Solution Awards mark the elite within the business intelligence, analytics and data warehousing industry. This prestigious award represents the industry's best practices - showcasing those vendors and companies that have implemented solutions that address a persistent business problem and, in turn, provide significant business value.
As in the past, this year's winners were selected by a panel of business intelligence industry experts. The panel of expert judges evaluated the solutions based on their business value, quantitative benefits, qualitative benefits, sustainability and value as a best practice. More than 100 entries were distributed to the judges this year.
