Chicago, IL(11/17/2007) – Anne Marie Smith, Ph.D, Principal Consultant and Director of Education for EWSolutions, a Chicago-based IT consulting firm, was recently selected as the Chairperson for the prestigious 2008 MIT IQ Industry Symposium.

The MIT Information Quality Industry Symposium, scheduled to be held in Cambridge, Massachusetts, on July 16-17, 2008 is a premier forum on IQ among practitioners, vendors, and academicians. The symposium addresses industry practices and includes workshops, paper and report tracks, as well as sessions and space for announcing, presenting and discussing vendors’ products and consultancy methods. The symposium program is designed to complement its sister IQ forum, the annual International Conference on Information Quality at MIT.

Anne Marie is focused on building and expanding on the successes of the inaugural symposium. Expanding the symposium from one to two days, doubling the attendance, expanding the range of vendors and products available for participants are just a few of the ways she and her committee plan to make a difference with this event. Organizers for this symposium are diverse and represent individuals from the private and public sectors, academics, and international business.

Anne Marie Smith, Ph.D. is a leading consultant in Information Management and is a frequent contributor to various IT publications. Anne Marie has over 20 years experience in information management for several corporate entities and has successfully led the development of data resource management departments within corporations and consulting organizations. Anne Marie is active in the local chapter of DAMA and serves on the board of directors of DAMA International, and is an advisor to the DM Forum. She has been an instructor of Management Information Systems (MIS) with Philadelphia, PA area colleges and universities. Most recently, she has joined the adjunct faculty of Northcentral University in the MIS graduate program.
