Janice M. Coleman

Career and Business Strategist | Thought Leader

With over 20 years in the world of career management, leadership training, and executive coaching, I’ve been successfully helping professionals and students to Live Out Loud, Play FULL out, and be Invincible in their SPACE!

I produce all things careers: RESUMES, LINKEDIN PROFILES, BIOS
I help with all things careers: Interviewing, Job Search, Negotiations, Networking
I train/speak about all things in communications and leadership

I have worked with professionals from the classroom to the board room with great results. With no guarantees made, I have helped people during the hardest times in the marketplace like 2020 – 2021 and 2008 – 2010. I have provided the strategic support needed to navigate the waters of recreating careers and inspiring the courage to make needed moves inside of employment situations.

What attracted you to Career Management/Education/Training, and why did you choose to pursue this career?

I believe that this field chose me. I love helping people to grow and identify and reach their potential.

What has been your greatest career accomplishment so far, and why has it been important to your career?

Helping my young clients to attain their first professional jobs/internships because by working with me they have had the opportunity to start their careers correctly.

What are the two or three biggest challenges you face as a career management/education/training professional and how can we address them?

The biggest challenges have been to keep clients encouraged that they do have value in the marketplace and that THEY can get the job they love and the job that loves them. I have been able to do this successfully over the years by sharing success stories from my history and working passionately to keep the clients minds on the end goal.

How do you see career management/education/training changing in the next 2 – 3 years?

I believe that this industry will change significantly due to the huge transition to a more virtual workplace and the marketplace’s current encounter with the “Great Resignation”.

Do you have any planned next steps for your career?

Yes. I am broadening my own infrastructure in order to include additional staff to serve more people in the areas of career management and training.

What is the single best piece of advice you have received in your career management/education/training career so far?  Why has it been so important to you?

I have been told many times that I can only help a client if they truly want to be helped. This has saved me heart when a client may be fighting for their own limitations and are not able to see themselves apart from their immediate situation. This doesn’t happen often but when it does, it’s a hard thing.

Can you share something about yourself as a person that people wouldn’t know about you?

I am a re-emerging tenor saxophone player. I love to play jazz. Who knows? You all may see me on a stage soon!
